How to Know When It's Time for Assisted Living

Making the decision to explore assisted living for a parent or loved one is a big step, and knowing when and how to take that step can be a challenge. Seniors do not always realize or accept that they may need more help. Many times family members aren’t aware that the need exists until an incident occurs. However, there are some common indicators that can help family members know when it’s time to start thinking about assisted living for their loved one.

Difficulty with the activities of daily living

Memory Loss

Social Isolation

A respite or short term stay at a senior living community, either to allow more recovery time after a hospital stay, or just to introduce the senior to assisted living, could be a good opportunity to evaluate your loved ones needs and determine if assisted living is the right choice for your family.
